The Blyth Academy is a mixed secondary school and sixth form located in Blyth, Northumberland, England. It was opened as Blyth Community College in 2000 following the amalgamation of Tynedale High School and Ridley High School. The school was built for 1450 students and has an estimated figure of around 1000 students, and is made up of years 7 through to 11; with two sixth form years. In 2008, the college changed its name to The Blyth School, Community College.
The Blyth Academy benefits from state-of-the-art facilities including a 3G football pitch and sports hall. The facilities allow us to provide students with a full range of sporting activities within extra-curricular activities and within the curriculum.
Additionally, the outstanding school facilities are used extensively by the school and local community. We have a diverse portfolio of clubs and activities running every evening and during the weekend.
Facilities include: 3G Football Pitch, Auditorium, IT Classrooms, Dance Studio, Grass Football Pitch and Sports Hall.
Our lettings are open 7 days a week with closures only during bank holidays and extended opening hours during school holidays. There is ample parking available onsite and our friendly staff are always available to help.
